An architecture studio's portfolio where the work is the loudest thing on the page — full-bleed imagery and motion, with a 0.4s hero.
Studio Foxglove make quiet, considered buildings — and their old site flattened them into a generic grid. They wanted full-bleed imagery, the kind of buttery scroll you feel rather than notice, and chrome that gets out of the way.
The catch: none of that could come at the cost of speed. Big imagery and heavy motion are usually where performance goes to die.
We built it on SvelteKit, prerendered to static HTML, with a CMS-driven case-study system so the studio can publish new projects themselves. Every hero image is preloaded and served as AVIF/WebP, with dimensions reserved up front so nothing shifts.
The motion — parallax, pinned sections, image reveals — runs on GSAP that's lazy-loaded and gated behind prefers-reduced-motion, so it never touches the critical path and never fights accessibility.
The result paints its hero in 0.4 seconds and scrolls like silk, while the studio adds projects without touching code.
